Review: Dart Zone Venom Pro

I saw an Aussie importer with Venom Pros in stock and on discount, and I couldn't resist the temptation. A flywheeler pistol that has competitive performance out-of-box and is fed by magazines through the handle? I was intrigued.

I'm something like a year late to this, but given it doesn't normally retail in Australia anyway, I didn't think I'd ever get one in the first place.

Review: Adventure Force Aeon Pro

The Adventure Force Aeon Pro is part of Dart Zone's line aimed more towards hobbyists, packing much higher power and half-length dart usage/compatibility. Naturally, it still seems to be only available in North America, however Blastertech imports and sells them locally. I bought one from them during their Australia Day (Jan 26) sale.

Funnily enough, this is actually my first real foray into half-length darts.

Quick Review: Men-Gun Stacked Waffle/Honeycomb Darts

Men-Gun Stacked Waffle/Honeycomb darts are actually an older dart design, originating from K-nex's Kforce blaster line. I figured that given I was slowly collecting most of the currently popular darts, I might as well give these a shot as well.

Some observations on the new BW12 Koosh darts I just received, akin to Torukmakto's posts on The Dart Zone (link left). Batch was ordered on the 6th of June, 2015.

"Koosh" Darts Review and Testing

 

The "Koosh" dart is one of the few aftermarket non-homemade darts that is popular and recommended in many Nerf circles. It has gained popularity in many groups that use stock darts. So should you use Koosh darts over your stock of Elite darts?

Just as a quick note, "Koosh" is not their actual name. These darts have no "official" name and have no known company producing them. The name "Koosh" was given to it by members of the NIC for reasons I do not know.

Nerf Stryfe Dart Sensor - Updated Again?

When the Stryfe first came out, many people criticised its dart sensor tooth thingy, which although seemed like a good idea, blocking the trigger if it was not loaded, actually caused a lot more trouble, by jamming up the trigger frequently and not detecting darts loaded in non-Elite clips (mags).
This problem was rectified with a new dart sensor design, as showcased by BasicNerf's post here. The video, made by "Duke Wintermaul" on Youtube, shows that the new dart sensor is larger than the original, but could still be easily be attacked with, for example, pliers. The serial number for these Stryfes ended with an "a".
I picked up my Stryfe from Malaysia. Worried that this might be an original troublesome Stryfe, I took it back to the place I was staying at, threw in some batteries and sprayed off the 6 darts that came with the Stryfe. To my relief, they fired out very quickly, and the trigger didn't lock up. Noting that it was different to the Stryfes with a serial number ending in an 'a', I looked at the engraved serial number and noted it ended with a 'b'.

While out shopping today I managed to pick up some of these:

At a local Target. Normal price is $12 but they have a 30% off Nerf so I got it for $8.40. Not bad for 30 darts.

More of a tactics post than a general usage post.

Strafing: The act of moving past or around another object at reasonably high speed with given intent. Differes between contexts, but in this context refers to the way one may run past another while firing, in an attempt to hit their opponents while not being hit themselves.
