Custom Tactical Rail Laser Attachment

I made this very quickly and easily, using the Longstrike's sight base and a laser I took from another toy gun. Add some hot glue, and you have a quick and very easy tac rail laser attachment.
Obviously being attached to Nerf blasters, the laser has no use except in extremely low light close quarters where the laser dot can actually be seen and used.

This particular laser unit has a simple on/off switch rather than a push button.




On a few different blasters. It certainly looks cool, but it only has use when you can clearly see the laser dot, and that only really occurs in very low light (such as night time) and in close quarters (where darts have not yet dropped significantly). Not to mention laser light that is too intense can cause serious damage to human eyeballs if shined directly into them. For these reasons this laser attachment is both impractical and unsafe for game use. Use it for tacticool photo shoots and fun, but don't use it in a Nerf war.

My iPod Touch Tactical Rail Mount

With all the (minor) buzz about Nerf's tactical app cradle whatever they are things, I thought I'd show off my custom iPod Touch holder that I made back in 2012. If you want proof I made them then and not after Nerf's one, look at this vid.



Anyway, for those looking to get their own and not fork out lots of money for something that can be done super cheaply, you can either get Slydev's one (link left) or make your own. Even better, this custom one can be used to hold your device of choice. Sadly it cannot hold different devices, but hey, total cost is around $5.

Slydev Nerf Jolt Rail Attachment Review

Slydev is an Aussie based small business who sells 3D printed plastic Nerf accessories. Possibly they're most well known one is this highly innovative piece, the Jolt Holder, which effectively turns a Jolt into a tactical rail accessory.

Dual Wield Barricades + iTouch Mount

A simple vid showcasing my iTouch on a Tactical Rail mount i made using a Recon light, a saw, a few bits of aluminium and some hot glue.
Also showcases the fun you can have with 2 Barricades and 4 Trustfire 14500 batteries.
EDIT: Please don't use Trustfires, use IMRs instead. eFest, Windyfire and AW are reputable IMR brands.
No official ranges, but should be 60ft+.

I'm going to redo the vid, so you can see the darts in flight. I'll also do a range test during that.

Nerf Scout IX-1 Tac Rail Attachment

This is a simple mod I did. Because I already had decent sidearms (my NF's and Stealth), and I always wanted a useful underbarrel blaster (the SS just doesn't do) I turned my Scout into that underbarrel attachment.

Materials:
Scout IX-3
Tac rail clip (I took mine from the Recon Flip Up Sight)
Hot glue
Epoxy
2 small screws
Short pin
Streamline head
Various screwdrivers
Tools:
Drill
Saw
Hot glue gun

Method:


  1. Fill the Streamline head with hot glue. Then stick the pin into that head.
  2. Completely disassemble the Scout. Do all the internal mods you want.
  3. Take the plunger catch (the bit which sticks out the top) and drill a tiny hole into it. Epoxy the pin and Streamline head into it as I have done in the pic. This will be the trigger because the original trigger will be removed.
  4. Saw the Scout in half as demonstrated on the right. You should be sawing just below the tip of the first dart holder, so that the bottom of the Scout has the flat part above the dart holders as the bottom.
  5. Cut a line along the slide so the trigger will not be touched when you cock the Scout. As demonstrated on the bottom left.
  6. In the bottom of the Scout, cut out portions so the tac rail clip can be glued on flat along the base of it.
  7. Epoxy/Hot Glue the tac rail clip on. Let the epoxy dry before continuing.
  8. Drill holes (one on either side) of the tac rail clip for screws to secure it to the Scout.
  9. Reassemble the Scout and test fire. Tool around until it works.










Once all the glue is dry, you should now have an underbarrel blaster which not only looks good but is functional and easy to use.
Mine, with AR removal was getting about 12-13m with Whistlers. It was second hand, and from what I can tell fairly old.

Custom Scope 1: Large ACOG

Fed up of the single-reticule Nerf scopes? Want to have a (very slightly) functional scope without buying a real scope? This is the answer: make your own! This is the first custom scope I made. It slides on and off tactical rails with ease. Also, the cost for materials is far less than it would cost for any Nerf scope or Rifle scope.
