I'm a little late in posting this because I totally forgot, but I uploaded a video of my Recon CS-6, and why it is so special.
The upshot of it is that I'm getting 17-19m consistently with Streamlines, and around 15m with Elites.
I measured the ranges using Google Earth and it measured ~20m for Elites and 25m with Streamlines. Which doesn't really sound reasonable, but I measured the right places, so...
EDIT: Ranges probably weren't flat, so don't pay them much attention.
If you're going to use it just a little, then you probably won't break it. If you're going to use it a lot, then yes, definitely pad it. Also consider reinforcing the plunger with a coin/washer. If you're going to dry fire it, then yes, pad it. Dry firing is the worst thing you can do to an AR'd blaster. Honestly if you're looking for a performance, just shell out the cash for a Retaliator. It has the same shell as a Recon, but superior performance and mod potential.
What did you use for padding?
ReplyDeleteI just used a thin foam pad. It's not the best, but it seems to work.
Deleteshould I pad my recon, I only removed the air restrictor and locks
