Review: Nerf Elite Shellstrike DS-6 (grey trigger)

It's been several years since I've bought a new blaster, as the majority of them have simply not appealed to me. I've always had a soft spot for shell-fed shotgun blasters though, so I was quite excited for the Shellstrike to finally arrive. When I finally found it in-store, it turned out to be cheaper than I'd expected, so I picked it up immediately.

Those of you excited to see another post from me, don't get your hopes up. I'm still pretty out of the Nerf scene and will probably continue to do so until my life settles down a little.

Review: Nerf Modulus Mediator (Aus grey trigger)

The Mediator is one of the more practical 2018 blasters, combining the compact form factor of the Recon/Retaliator with the pump action and side magwell of the Raider/Rampage. I was intending to grab one, but then held off when I saw the retail price. I managed to snag this one for a reasonable price second hand.

Review: Nerf Doomlands Desolator (US orange trigger)

The Desolator is a blaster belonging to a sub-theme of Doomlands, Impact Zone. This subtheme features a vastly different colour scheme to regular Doomlands blasters, being primarily white instead of primarily yellow/orange. Regardless, they maintain many distinctive Doomlands-style features, such as the translucent window on the sides of blasters. While the Desolator is essentially "just" a Stryfe, being a Stryfoid is by no means a bad thing, as the Stryfe is a great blaster in itself. What the Desolator offers then, besides being a Stryfoid, is its unique and awesome design, and I was rather excited to get my hands on one. Unfortunately, the Desolator never arrived in Aussie stores, so after months of waiting I eventually purchased one off a fellow Aussie who had imported several.

Review: Nerf Modulus Tri-Strike (Aus grey trigger)

The Tri-Strike is the first Modulus blaster to be sporting some properly new accessories, boasting the ability to fire three different ammo types from all its components. This is exactly the sort of thing that I was hoping the Modulus line would bring, accessories that wouldn't be seen in the Elite line. I waited for the price to drop a little before picking one up.

Review: Nerf Elite Hyperfire (21m Aus grey trigger)

The Hyperfire is one of the more exciting 2016 releases for me. I'm personally not into things like the Mastodon or Khaos, but I love full auto. The Hyperfire presented itself as a replacement for the now hard-to-find Rapidstrike (at least in Australia), and though its extremely high retail price was annoying, still presented great potential. My enthusiasm was blunted substantially when it was revealed/discovered that the Hyperfire uses a conveyor belt feeding mechanism instead of a traditional pusher, but I still wanted to see for myself how it compares to the beloved Rapidstrike.

Review: Nerf Elite Dual-Strike (grey trigger)

The Dual-Strike is one of the more unusual new blasters, a blaster capable of firing both Elites and Megas, and switch between them at will. Naturally this system, assuming it is relatively efficient and effective, is intruiging and present a lot of potential.

Note that this blaster belongs to a friend and I borrowed it for this review, so I may not be able to answer subsequent questions about it as accurately as I would like.

Review: Nerf Rebelle 4Victory (20m Aus grey trigger)

The Sweet Revenge/Hammershot are great blasters, and are very popular sidearm choices. With the popularity of the hammer prime platform, it was only a matter of time before more hammer primed blasters emerged. The 4Victory is one of those, being a 4 barrel blaster instead of having a 5 dart cylinder. How does it stack up to the slightly larger Sweet Revenge?

Review: Nerf Rebelle Secret Shot (grey trigger Aus)

Nerf's previous automatic deploying blaster, the N-Strike Deploy CS-6, was a miserable failure even by N-Strike standards. With insanely difficult to reassemble internals and horribly horrible performance, it has become a joke in the community. Now it has returned in a new form, the Rebelle Secret Shot.

Review: Nerf Zombie Strike Slingfire (Aus grey trigger, black breech)

The Slingfire is ZS's first clip (mag) system blaster, and introduces a priming method new to Nerf (but not to the blaster world, Buzz Bee did it earlier). How does it stack up to Nerf's other clip (mag) system blasters?

Review: Nerf Zombie Strike Doublestrike (grey trigger Aus)

The Doublestrike is one of Zombie Strike's more unique/better looking releases, seemingly being a shrunken down version of the highly acclaimed Hammershot, sporting an awesome Derringer style design. Can it live up to the Hammershot's acclaim?

Review: Nerf Mega Bigshock (grey trigger)

Every Nerf series needs a Jolt variant or repaint. The Elite and ZS lines got basically straight repaints, while the Rebelle line got a bunch of reshells. Now the Mega line has its Jolt in the form of the Bigshock.

Review: Nerf Elite Crossbolt (Aus 21m grey trigger)

The Crossbolt is one of Nerf's latest Elite releases, and is one of an increasing number of blasters powered by a tensioned cord instead of flywheels or a plunger. How does it stack up to its more conventional brethren?

Review: Nerf Rebelle Messenger (20m Aus grey trigger)

The Rebelle Messenger is one of Nerf's new Rebelle blasters under the Secrets and Spies subline, which revolves around sending secret messages written on the darts. The Messenger has already become fairly popular thanks to it being a "Triadstrike", that is, in essence a Firestrike with the barrel block of a Triad, though obviously in Rebelle colours and style.

Review: Nerf Elite Strongarm (15/20m Aus grey trigger)

The Strongarm is the Elite line's cheap revolver blaster, taking the price point, role and shelf spot of the N-Strike Maverick. Many of the Elite blasters are greatly improved from the original N-Strike blasters. With the disappointment of the breakage prone Elite Spectre, how does the Strongarm stack up?

Review: Nerf Zombie Strike Sledgefire (grey trigger)

Now for a different Nerf line, here's a review of the Zombie Strike Sledgefire. Sorry it took so long to get this review done.

The Sledgefire was one of the two blasters in Zombie Strike's first wave back in late 2013. Like its partner the Hammershot, the Sledgefire is a completely new design rather than a modified version of an older blaster. Unlike every other Nerf blaster though, the Sledgefire uses shells to allow for fast reloading of multiple darts. This concept has been around for a while, primarily from Buzz Bee, but has had mixed opinions. Some like the novelty/realism factor of the shells, while others hated how they drastically increased reloading time. So how does the Sledgefire stack up as a shell using blaster?

Review: Nerf Elite Rapidstrike CS-18 (20m grey trigger Aus)

The Rapidstrike CS-18 was one of the most exciting Nerf releases of 2013 for many. Since the Stampede of 2010, there weren't any other similar "assault rifle" styled full auto blasters, and some people were modding their N-Strike Rayvens to be full auto. And of course, even from the initial leaked pictures, the Rapidstrike looked like a beast.
So does the Rapidstrike live up to all of its hype?

Nerf Elite Stockade Review (15m Aus grey trigger)

Behold, my first review in ages! This review will be of one of the first Elites to be released, and like a lot of the early Elites, it is a remake of an N-Strike blaster.
The Stockade is a remake of the N-Strike Barricade. Unlike some of the other Elite remakes, the Stockade includes its own unique accessory that the Barricade didn't have, a stock. Besides that stock though, the Stockade is the same as the other Elite remakes, with a near identical shell and new internals.
Due to their similarities, consider reading my review of the Barricade.

Nerf Elite Roughcut 2x4 Review (20m Aus grey trigger, White paintjob)

I present to you a review of one of Nerf's few shotguns, the Elite Roughcut 2x4, in its Psuedo-Whiteout (henceforth called "White") paintjob no less!

Nerf Rebelle Sweet Revenge Review (20m Aus grey trigger)

This will be a review of the Rebelle Sweet Revenge (Kit), formerly known as the Wildshot. Along with its brother the Hammershot, the Sweet Revenge (SR) is a hammer action revolver that was highly anticipated since its unveiling. So just how good is this new revolver?

NOTE: Since the Sweet Revenge and Hammershot are effectively the same blaster, this review can apply in most respects to the Hammershot as well.
