Nerf Switchshot EX-3 Review

This blaster is a single-shot blaster, like the Nitefinder. It shares similar power, although has better range because this includes 3 Whistler darts. Unlike the Nitefinder, this does not have a built-in-light. There are 2 dart holders in the bottom, just above the upside-down tactical rail.

The Switchshot functions well as a single-shot, being rather accurate when used correctly. However, it's key feature is this:
The plunger assembly can be removed and replaced with a Wii Remote, hence it being called a 'Switch Shot'. This blaster was designed to be used with the Nerf N-strike Wii game.

I find the grip less comfortable than that of an AT, for some reason. Usage tips here.

There's really not much else to say about this blaster. It is about the same as your average Nitefinder, but harder to find because you can either get it from:
a) Nerf N-strike Wii Game bundle
b) in its own box (not really worth it)

The Switch Shot is basically a super expensive Nitefinder, so I can't recommend it except for novelty value.

Pros:
As with Nitefinder excluding the light, blaster unit can be removed for easy integration to other blasters, remainder of body can house a WiiMote for a more realistic feel in Wii shooting games
Cons:
Generic single shot cons, is quite heavy, rectangular profile can be a little annoying to holster

Power: 4.5/7
Accuracy: 4.5/5
Value for Money: 3/5
Usefulness: 4/5
Rate of fire: 1/5
Overall: 3.14/5

Personal Rating: 2.5/5 - more novelty than anything else.

High novelty, less value.

  1. can you use just the plunger assemly part and still fire it?

  2. If you can find a way to push the trigger mech, then yes, you could. All you'd need is something thin like a screwdriver.
