Alpha Trooper vs Raider Slam-Fire Off

I finally completed my AT vs Raider slam-fire off vid after months of procrastination.
The AT's ROF is 6.32dps, while the Raider's is 6.00dps.
I personally far prefer the AT, but some people might prefer the Raider. In any case, the point of this vid was simply to compare slam-fire speeds.

Nerf Elite "Mega" - Opinion/Rant

With the release of info and a pic of the Nerf Elite Mega line from MLD (link left), numerous thoughts come to mind, and I thought I would document them all in a single huge post.

Nerf 'Elite' Jolt Mini Review

I picked up an 'Elite' Jolt for $5, wondering if it was any better than an N-Strike Jolt, or was really just a blue Jolt with fancy orange bits on the front.
As the Elite Jolt is so similar to an N-Strike Jolt, I've left some details out, but they can be found in the Jolt's review.

As made obvious by the picture above, the Elite Jolt comes in a blister package, with itself and 2 Elite darts. Pretty much the same as a regular Jolt (except of course the darts).

Nerf Vortex Pyragon Slam-Fire Take 2

My original Pyragon slam-fire vid you couldn't see the discs flying, and all you could see were disc impacts on the curtain and hear very loud rapid-fire noises. This new vid allows you to see the discs hit the lace in front of my window, and also lets me accurately measure the time between first and last disc impact.
Anyway, the vid:
I empty the 40 disc drum in 5.87 seconds, meaning a ROF of 6.81 discs per second. Note the disc spray, though, and this is at a 1-2m range.

Nerf Vortex Pyragon Review

A somewhat overdue and underdue review, in this post I'm reviewing the 2012 addition to the Vortex line, the Pyragon.
When the first line of Vortex blasters came out, the Praxis was considered the best of the four due to its design, range and accuracy. It was criticised for a lack of capacity (somewhat remedied by the 20 disc mag from the Nitron) and not having slam fire, limiting ROF to around 3 discs per second. Additionally not everyone was a fan of the Vortex paintscheme. Nerf has remedied all of these with the Pyragon, sporting a greatly increased capacity (from the 40 disc drum), ROF (from slam-fire), a somewhat increased range and a new shell design with awesome paintscheme on the side.

Nerf War 16/1/13

I had a war with some friends on the 16th, and I managed to get 8 good games. I've decided to put them together into 3 videos, according to game type.

Game 1: FFA
Just to get everyone warmed up to the blasters and play area.

Games 2-4: Tic-Tac-Toe Domination
There was a revolving Tic Tac Toe board on the smaller of the playgrounds, and we decided to use it as a domination point. The idea was to turn all 9 spaces into the symbol of your team, either X or O. To complicate matters, because we had a prime number of players (7) I decided the last person would simply try and defend the Tic Tac Toe board. It worked surprisingly well, given the low amount of thought put in to it.

Games 5-8: Bombing Run
After a few of my friends left, we were left with just 4 people allowing for a simple 2v2.. I decided we should try out a UT2004 favourite, the Bombing Run. Essentially you have to take a central bomb (in this case a Nerf Ammo Box) to the opponent's goal square (which was drawn in the ground). To complicate matters, you could not fire while holding the bomb, so winning required real teamwork.

Nerf Vortex Pyragon Slam-Fire Demo

In this video I slam-fire the Pyragon's entire 40 disc drum in 6 seconds.
This means its maximum ROF is 6.67 discs per second, which is excellent considering its the only slam-fire blaster to do so, it rivals semi auto blasters like the Rayven and Hail-Fire, and is only exceeded by the Magstrike and possibly Rapid Fire.
