Theres about 2.5cm max space for a compressed spring with stock firestrike internals and the 836 compresses to about 4~5cm. Unfortunately moving the catch won't change anything as the corresponding catch lip is on the actual plunger rod.

If you happen to own an early gen nitefinder (a batch without solvent welded internals) you can quite easily perform an internals transplant between the two. You will get a slightly shorter draw and smaller diameter plunger tube but will be able to fit a full length 836.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7516405105463063210.post-20359360090820792016-07-24T09:48:54.911+10:002016-07-24T09:48:54.911+10:00Thanks mate. Cheers, I will try cutting some coils and or removing the catch at the back of the plunger to allow a bigger spring. Looking forward to your next review. Yes the C836 had to be cut down to fit, something like 2-3 coils? I think it's the same as a Nitefinder.P13c30fch33s3https://www.blogger.com/profile/00203166690272497443noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7516405105463063210.post-57404783231192355382016-07-23T15:17:46.859+10:002016-07-23T15:17:46.859+10:00With the instrument switch and c836 spring, did yo...With the instrument switch and c836 spring, did you have to cut it down? I tried fitting one to a fire strike, was like shoving a sausage in a matchbox. Been enjoying the mod parts reviews lately as well. Cheers TyeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
